TheNational Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded both the all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive configurations with a 5 star rating. In order to earn the highest safety rating possible, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross performed well, earning five stars on the passenger side frontal-crash test and in the combined side crash ratings, and it earned four out of five stars performing the driver-side crash test and the rollover test.
